In addition to bed-side and corner steps, the truck featured GMC’s flexible MultiPro tailgate, which can be lowered in sections forming stairs for easy bed access. I didn’t have that problem at all with the Sierra, though. Accessing the bed of today’s pickups can be a challenge. My AT4X test truck was fitted with the stout 6.2-liter V8 (a diesel engine comes standard for 2024), and it offered exceptional off-road capabilities while, surprisingly, remaining well-mannered on paved roads. It’s available with innovative features and offered in a multitude of configurations. While I don’t feel the 2024 Sierra is a standout in any one area, it doesn’t let you down in any way, either.
